Macy’s Culinary Council Chef Takashi Yagihashi Cooking Demo March 23

Everywhere DisclosureTakashi Yagihashi

We always know that spring is just about here in Minnesota when Macy’s hosts their annual flower show! What makes flower show time extra fun is all the other events Macy’s plans around the occasion. One that I am particularly looking forward to this year is a cooking demonstration by Macy’s Culinary Council Chef Takashi Yagihashi at noon on Wednesday, March 23 in the lower level Culinary Kitchen of Macy’s Downtown Minneapolis.

If you have visited Chicago, you may have had the opportunity to visit Takashi Yagihashi’s namesake restaurant Takashi or the rustic Japanese noodle restaurant Noodles by Takashi Yagihashi at Macy’s on State Street, Slurping Turtle, or Tabo Sushi by Takashi in Chicago’s Plum Market. Even if you haven’t been to Chicago recently, you may know Takashi from his accolades including being featured by Food and Wine as one of America’s ten “Best New Chefs” selection as “Best Chef Midwest” by the esteemed James Beard Foundation in 2003. He also has a popular cookbook, Takashi’s Noodles, with over 75 recipes for both traditional and inventive hot and cold Japanese noodle dishes.

Takashi’s cooking demonstration will give you the opportunity to pick up some culinary tips to impress your family and friends while this esteemed chef prepares some of his favorite award-winning dishes. Plus you’ll even have a chance to enjoy delicious samples! I have been to several of the Culinary Council cooking demonstrations and they are always a lot of fun.

As an additional bonus, with any purchase of $35 or more in the Home department, receive a $10 Macy’s gift card and a copy of Takashi’s Noodles, which he will sign directly after the event.

Tickets to the event are free, but you should RSVP by calling 1-877-556-2297 from 10am-4pm Monday through Saturday, and Sunday 12:00-4:00pm. For more information, visit
