Now through January 5th, 2024, you can visit Curious George: Let’s Get Curious! Exhibit at the Minnesota Children’s Museum in downtown St. Paul.
Did you grow up reading Curious George books? There is something about that silly monkey and the man in the yellow hat that just instantly brings me back to my childhood! When I heard the Curious George: Let’s Get Curious! Exhibit was coming to the Minnesota Children’s Museum, I knew we needed to make a special trip to check it out.
The Curious George: Let’s Get Curious! Exhibit is hands-on, interactive fun for kids of all ages. I went with my two year old but there were many older children exploring while we were there. A lot of the spaces within the exhibit could work for both younger and older children.
My daughter’s immediate favorites were the mini golf, the elevator door and the produce stand. All of the play was very open ended and it was fun to see the concepts integrated into play. For example with the mini golf, children are invited to engineer their own mini golf green with plastic tubes, spinning turn tables and more. It was fun to see her thinking so intently at 2 years old!
Other spaces in the exhibit include open ended construction areas, wind power experiments, shadow play, rocket ships and so much more. There was a lot to do and plenty of space to do it, without the exhibit feeling overwhelming. It was really fun for me too as an adult to learn more about the history of Curious George. I found myself just as excited as my daughter to explore and learn about one of my favorite childhood characters!
I’m always impressed with the Minnesota Children’s Museum and how well they integrate play with learning. We are so lucky to have this local space to explore with our children!
The Curious George: Let’s Get Curious! Exhibit is open now through January 5th, 2025. It is included in daily admission to the Minnesota Children’s Museum. General admission is $16 online if you purchase tickets online or $17 at the door on weekdays and $19 at the door on weekends and special dates. Tickets and more information can be found on the Minnesota Children’s Museum website.
