Let your child cross country ski at the Sons of Norway Barnelopet at Riverside Park in St. Cloud! They’re invited whether they’re experienced or skiing for the first time!
The 15th Annual Sons of Norway Barnelopet takes place at Riverside Park in Saint Cloud on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Races begin at 1pm.
This event is hosted by the Sons of Norway members from Trollheim of Saint Cloud, Vennekretsen of Anoka, and Syttende Mai of Minneapolis lodges. The Central Minnesota Youth Ski Club and Nordic Ski Club of Central Minnesota also contribute to the success of the Barneløpet.
This opportunity for skiing is ideal for families with children between between the ages of 3 and 13. Maybe your child has skied before, or maybe you have a child who wants to try skiing for the first time.
All are welcome to participate in this free event, which offers a festive atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.
Every finisher gets an Olympic-style keepsake medal! Many treats, such as hot chocolate, cookies, krumkake, and vaffler (waffles) will be provided. Limited ski equipment will be available to borrow for free.
Pre-registration by email or mail is preferred with the completion of a registration form. Day of registration begins at 11:30am on race day at Riverside Park. Riverside Park is located at 1800 Killian Blvd SE in Saint Cloud.
