If you’ve never been to the Harriet Alexander Nature Center, here’s your chance to check it out. We discovered it for the first time a couple of years ago and enjoyed it so much we’ve returned several times.
Located in the Roseville area, you can forget how close you are to the city at this hidden gem. We enjoy the great walking trails and the nature center itself offers some great learning opportunities.
Sunday, February 13 is the annual open house at HANC (Harriet Alexander Nature Center). It takes place from 12:30 – 4:30 pm. The theme is “Year of the Tiger,” with all sorts of great activities, crafts, treats and exhibits to enjoy.
From house cats to wild cats, tiger relatives around the world are graceful, curious and fierce. Explore the world of felines as you learn which ones can purr, which are the fastest, and if they really have nine lives. Learn about people born in the Year of the Tiger while enjoying some of the fun customs of Chinese New Year.
Starting February 1, 2022 and lasting until January 23, 2023, the Year of the Tiger honors the animal known as the king of all beasts in China. The zodiac sign Tiger is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness. Many Chinese kids wear hats or shoes with a tiger image of for good luck. The 12 zodiac animals are, in order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.
