Mark your calendars for Inclusive Day of Play sponsored by Gillette Children’s!
This upcoming Saturday, July 27, 2024, is the Inclusive Day of Play in which children of all abilities are invited to play together at an inclusive play space or in your neighborhood.
Inclusive play spaces can be hard to find. Even when they are available, it’s up to everyone to create play opportunities that are fully welcoming for all involved. That’s why playing together is so important!
Now, of course, children can play together any time. But this specific event was created as a rallying cry to unite kids of all abilities, share resources, and raise awareness about inclusive play.
Gillette Children’s has rounded up a list of inclusive play spaces on the Inclusive Play Map. Each space is linked with information and photos so you can know what to expect.
There are currently fourteen playgrounds in the metro area and nine playgrounds in greater Minnesota, including Augsburg Adventure Park in Richfield that we just highlighted!
Families are also encouraged to share other accessible or inclusive play areas with Gillette Children’s so they can keep the list up-to-date as an ongoing resource.
