Yesterday I told you about a Drive-in close to the metro, today I will tell you about another Drive-in. This one is not close to the metro, however we are Thrifty Minnesota. With the emphasis on the “Minnesota” today, as the Long Drive-In is located near Long Prairie, in Central MN. A drive for some of you, and not for others. The Long Drive-In was voted the top Minnesota Drive-In on WCCO last year (you can watch the story from 2014 here). The Long Drive-in has been going since 1956, and yes I have been to it a few times as it is near where I grew up. It is open Fri, Sat and Sun nights from May-October. Reasonable prices, $6 for adults and kids age 5-11 are $2, under 5yrs are free. Two movies shown for the price of one.
Everyone is welcome at the Long Drive-In Theatre! Generations of theatre-goers have had the opportunity to enjoy movies from the comfort of their car, lawn chair, or blanket. Your family can do the same.
Enter the park before nightfall to ensure you catch the entire movie. The second movie follows the first after a brief intermission. We do NOT close due to rain. We only close if it is life threatening weather. To ensure if we are open or closed, call (320)732-3142 for the answering machine.

Kristi is married with twin daughters. She grew up on a small dairy farm, but now lives in the south metro area. She enjoys finding free or thrifty things to do whether they are outings close to home or last minute adventures to far-away places.
Kristi can also be found enjoying estate sales, attempting to garden, volunteering in the wetlands or a favorite thrift store, or maybe just enjoying a good play in one of the many theatre venues in the area.
