Enjoy authentic Greek food, beverages, music, dancing, desserts, shopping, food demonstrations and more at the Taste of Greece Minneapolis Greek Festival!
We love the Minneapolis Greek Festival! This year it takes place September 6-8 and, as always, admission is free.
Luckily we have family living only a few blocks away from its home at St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church so we’re usually there every single year!
They have a big menu of Greek specialties available for lunch or dinner, along with plenty of traditional Greek and Greek-inspired beverages. Foods included multiple types of gyros and burgers, pastitsio, and (Saturday and Sunday only) complete lamb, chicken and souvlaki dinners served with rice pilaf and pita bread.
There are also delicious appetizers like spanakopita, dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves) and more.
After your meal you can head inside to check out all the fabulous baked goods. I love the baklava, of course, but another one of my favorites is the kourambiethes, a buttery shortbread cookie topped with powdered sugar.
Lots more activities are planned so your family can make a whole afternoon/evening out of it. More details can be found here on the website.

I love that festival season is here. You can find one nearly every weekend! That’s a great idea, offering food tickets in exchange for non-perishable food items.
