Looking to learn about the history of Paul Bunyan and his importance to Minnesota? Several libraries have a program coming up where you can learn all about Paul and his blue ox!
Have you ever wanted to learn more about Paul Bunyan and his symbolic history here in Minnesota? Now’s your chance with free learning events at select libraries within the East Central Regional Library in Minnesota!

Paul Bunyan’s Footprints is a presentation that explores the symbolic history of Paul Bunyan in Minnesota, followed by a Q&A session. This event is hosted by Johnathon Jaeger, a public historian from Minnesota. Throughout his work with museums and archives, he studies how groups created identity in the past and how those identities reverberate today.
Registration is encouraged for this free event. Recommended for ages 12+. Walk-ins will be welcome as space allows. The program will occur at several different libraries within the East Central Regional Library Branch:
- Mora, Monday, February 2nd at 6pm
- Princeton, Tuesday, February 3rd at 6pm
- Sandstone, Thursday, February 5th at 6pm
- Cambridge, Tuesday, February 10th at 6pm
- Chisago Lakes, Thursday, February 12th at 6pm
