2025 marks 40 years of The Ordway! Celebrate with a Free Open House event on Sunday, September 21st!
It’s hard to believe that The Ordway is turning 40 years old in 2025! I remember seeing some of my most favorite live shows there starting in childhood to now. It is such a special place for me!
Beyond the amazing live performances, The Ordway goes all out for their community events and the 40th Anniversary Open House is sure to be no exception! There will be ample live performances from Hijinks Stilts, Women’s Drum Center, Native Arts Collaborative, Ballet Co.Laboratory, One Voice Mixed Chorus, Sounds of Blackness and a special presentation of ‘Highlights of Broadway.’
Ready to be on stage? Have your own moment to shine on the Ordway stage itself! Then participate in a self-guided tours and the Penguins on the Loose! themed treasure hunt.
Test your knowledge and learn with Name That Opera Tune!, presented by the Minnesota Opera, check out the clever balloon creations by balloon artist David Olson, try on classic theater costumes from Ordway’s collection and create and play your own bomba drum with guest artist María Isa.
There will be tons of giveaways and chances to win tickets, along with limited-edition Ordway anniversary merchandise available for purchase. Snacks will also be complimentary!
