The Long Drive-In Theatre in Long Prairie (in central MN) is opening for the season! See what’s new for the 2026 season.
Yes this winter was long, just when we thought it was warm it came back again! Finally…we are seeing signs of SPRING and we have something we can look forward to.
Spring of course means one of our places has an opening date! It’s almost time for the seasonal opening of the Long Drive In.
Located near Long Prairie in central MN, it’s a favorite for many. They’ve been a favorite summer destination for central MN since opening in 1956.

The 2026 opening has been announced April 2, 3 and 4 with a special Easter/Spring Break season opener! UPDATE: With the recent winter weather they have been having to play it by ear with the opening. It’s likely moving to the following weekend! Follow their website/Facebook below for details.
Visit with the Easter Bunny Friday or Saturday evening from 6:30 – 8 pm and enter for Mario prizes. Opening weekend’s movies include The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (PG) at 8:15 pm and GOAT (PG) at 10 pm.

Please remember the drive-in is a small business and as there are not very many drive-in’s are still operating, please be respectful of their rules and guidelines:
- Cash or check preferred. They do accept credit cards for an additional $1 transaction fee.
- Stay under the 5 mph speed limit.
- No glass bottles or containers of any kid are allowed on their lot.
- RVs and trailers must enter through the EXIT. Your RV/camper will not fit through the entrance.
- Outside food is not allowed. They have a full-service concession booth that is open all night. The concessions is how they keep their doors open for you to enjoy.
- Know how to turn your lights off manually. This includes pickup truck cargo lights so they are not turning off and on throughout the night.
- Pets on a leash are welcome as long as they are not disturbing anyone. You must clean up after them. Pets are not allowed at concessions unless they are a service animal.
- Don’t try to sneak in. You will pay double admission when caught ($16). Hold on to your ticket as they can ask for it any time as proof of admission.
- Watch where you park and be wary of other drivers.
- There is no refund if you leave early.
- Remember other viewers are trying to enjoy the movie. Please be respectful, keep your vehicle lights off, and keep noise down.
