Get a fresh view of the City of Lakes on Mondays and Tuesdays this summer with free drop-in canoeing from 5 – 7 pm at Loring Pond (Mondays) and Powderhorn Lake (Tuesdays). No registration is required. Loring Pond dates run through August 19th and Powderhorn Lake dates run through August 13th.
You’ll learn paddling techniques and safety tips from their trained naturalist guides, then explore the water at your own pace. Canoes, life vests, and paddles are provided. Everyone ages 2 and older is welcome, and children ages 12 and younger should have a parent or guardian present.
In addition, kids can learn to fish at Powderhorn Lake on select Tuesdays in July and August from 4 – 7 pm. Please note that adults who want to fish (rather than just help a child) need to bring a valid fishing license.
