Grand Old Day, the largest free celebration in the Midwest, takes place this weekend, on Sunday, June 4th in Saint Paul.
Saint Paul’s Grand Old Day is the official Kickoff to Summer. As the largest free celebration in the Midwest, this Saint Paul tradition has been taking place for fifty years. After a few years off, we are happy to report this event is back to happening!
Grand Old Day Schedule of Activities
The festival is on
- 8:30 am Two-Mile Fun Run (Registration is required)
- 9:30 am Parade (begins at Dale Street and ends at Fairview)
- 9 am – 6 pm Vendor Booths are open
- 11 am
- Car Show (Hamline/Grand)
- Beer Gardens open
- Pickleball Demonstrations
- Family Fun Zone
- 11 am – 6 pm Music at multiple stages
- Grand Stage (all ages)
- Kenton House Stage
- Red Rabbit Stage
- Iron Ranger
- Pride Stage
- Youth Stage (all ages)
- 2 pm Weiner Dog Races

Although the festival is free, if you plan to visit the Beer Gardens, you need to purchase a wristband. Head here to save $5 by purchasing your wristband in advance.
If you are looking to add a little extra to your experience, a limited number of Grand Stage VIP passes are available to purchase. This VIP pass includes a swag bag, beer garden fast pass, two drink tickets, premium concert viewing, VIP tent and lounge, photo booth, commemorative lanyard, and more. A wristband to the beer garden is required for this package and is sold separately.
Are you wondering about parking options? Consider taking a shuttle. There will be free shuttle rides to Grand Old Day for guests along Summit Avenue. Shuttles will pick up at stops along Summit on the corners of Cambridge,
Saratoga, Syndicate, Oxford, Victoria, and St. Albans. If opting for this route, expect to wait 30 minutes for a shuttle as Summit Avenue gets very congested during the event.
