Get ready to be entertained at MOYA by Zip Zap Circus now at Children’s Theatre Company through October 20th!
My son and I love going to see circus shows. There’s something special about watching mind bending feats live and in-person. Sometimes I find myself sitting at the edge of my seat or biting my nails waiting for something to happen, but my son doesn’t worry at all and enjoys the thrill!
We were in for a treat watching MOYA by Zip Zap Circus at Children’s Theatre Company. It was the most amazing blend of typical circus acts alongside powerful theatre and wonderful music. It’s recommended for all ages!
MOYA is the real life story of a young boy growing up on the streets of Cape Town, South Africa. He meets the members of Zip Zap Circus where he is accepted and discovers his own love of performing. MOYA cleverly blends the story with music into the circus acts such as bars, silks, unicycle, juggling, gumboot dancing and more.
Neither of us wanted the show to end! At 70 minutes with no intermission, the show felt fast but was the perfect length for audiences young and old. As a mom I always appreciate how well the Children’s Theatre Company integrates learning into art. The program has thoughtful questions for the ride home, fun activities to continue the conversation and more. I always make sure to take a program home with me or revisit it on their website.
After the show, my son got to meet the performers and take a picture with them. He thought that was super special!
MOYA by Zip Zap Circus is running now through October 20th at Children’s Theatre Company on the UnitedHealth Group Stage. Tickets start at $15 on the Children’s Theatre Company website.
