Have some classic summer fun at the Dakota County Fair with FREE Admission!
Many of the county fairs have had to start charging an entry fee in recent years. It’s usually nominal and less than the cost of a cup of coffee so it’s still a bargain for the amount of fun inside the gates.
This year the Dakota County is offering FREE admission. It’s important to note that their are still some things that they are charging for just so you are aware and these include: parking, carnival rides, Most Grandstand events and Scooter Rental.
The fair runs August 9-15th and each day has something for everyone. We love the animal barns and you can often find special events in at least one of them. Another fun part of the Dakota Fair is the Dakota City area, stepping back in time in the historical small town.

- Kids Day – Tuesday, August 10, 2021 **Barn Tours during the day
- Military Day – Wednesday, August 11, 2021 **FREE admission for the first 400 Military personnel and their immediate families to the “Bulls n Barrels Rodeo”
- Senior Day – Thursday, August 12, 2021
- Public Safety Day – Saturday, August 14, 2021
