During a previous free weekend I used the opportunity to dig for information about our house and the people who lived here before us. Our house was built in 1924, so it has almost 100 years of history. It was fascinating to learn about the family who first lived here and things that happened in the neighborhood.
The most amazing (and frightening) news clip I found was of an 18-year-old woman who was abducted by two men she met in a bar in Richfield. On the corner near our house she was able to jump from the moving vehicle and the newspaper story states how her screams alerted the original owners of our house who turned on their lights – helping to scare away the attackers.
