Don’t miss your chance to see the amazing Glass in Flight 2 exhibit open now through Labor Day at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory!
We always add Como Park Zoo and Conservatory onto our summer bucket list and this year is no exception! Visiting the animals, watching the Sparky Show, exploring the conservatory- these are fun year-round! But there’s so much more to do at Como during the summer, including their latest new addition: Glass in Flight 2!
Glass in Flight 2 is a traveling exhibit created by Alex Heveri and it’s filled with gorgeous glass sculptures of butterflies, hummingbirds, dragonflies, ants and more made out of steel and glass.
The glass is a special type of glass called Dalle De Verre, which was used a long time ago in stain glass windows in churches and cathedrals. It looks absolutely gorgeous in these sculptures, especially when the sun hits it just right!
Glass in Flight 2 is located next to the Como Conservatory and is free to explore. It wasn’t a huge space, but the sculptures truly took our breath away and gave us a nice break from the busyness of the zoo! It was fun to see such a different blend of art and nature.

Glass in Flight 2 is open now through Labor Day every day from 10am -6pm. Como Park Zoo and Conservatory is free to visit, but they do encourage donations.
