Learn about the history of Minneapolis with free Open Courtyard Family Days at Mill City Museum!
This weekend is the second of the monthly Open Courtyard Family Days which will teach the whole family about the historical and contemporary identity of Minneapolis. The fun takes place outside at Mill City Museum (note that the indoor exhibits are closed).
All activities are FREE and take place on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15 from 10 am – 2 pm daily.
Other upcoming dates include:

History and fun come together in a day of family activities in the museum’s open-air Ruin Courtyard.
Learn how the falling water of St. Anthony Falls powered the flour milling industry. See how water power turns turbines with a water power model, puzzle out how the machines were connected and run without electricity, share your Minneapolis story at our participatory exhibit, and attend a puppet show about a water adventure with Open Eye Figure Theater.
Please enter the Ruin Courtyard from West River Parkway.
This program is part of “What Makes Minneapolis, Minneapolis?” a new outdoor series that examines the historical and contemporary identity of the city.
