Do you have an item of clothing that needs to be mended? You can sign up for a free time slot for one-on-one help repairing your item during the Mend It May events! Or sign up to attend a sewing machine basics class and learn to mend the items yourself!
Do you have any clothing that you’d love to have repaired or mended? Maybe it’s something that’s been on that chair for a while in your room but it’s never gotten finished! I know I have a few things like that. Look no further than the Mend It May events hosted by Reuse Minnesota! You can sign up for a time slot and receive one-on-one help to fix your item! Or you could take a sewing machine basics class and learn to do it yourself!
For one-on-one help with repair, those time slots are 30 minutes long on Wednesday, May 21st, Thursday, May 22nd, Friday, May 23rd, Wednesday, May 28th, and Friday, May 30th. Head to their Eventbrite page to sign up. All of these events are held at the Old School thrift store 1901 Nicollet Ave S in Minneapolis.
The Pedal to the metal: Sewing machine basics classes will be offered twice– get to know your sewing machine and start stitching with confidence! Whether you’re brand new to sewing or just need a refresher, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the basics of using your sewing machine—from threading to stitching and everything in between. These classes are a one-on-one, 25 minute time slot. You can reserve your time on their website.
The Pedal to the metal: Sewing machine basics classes take place on Friday, May 16th from 9:30am-12:30pm at the North Regional Library, 1315 Lowry Avenue North, Minneapolis and Monday, May 19th from 1-4pm at the Hosmer Library, 347 East 36th Street, Minneapolis. These classes are one-on-one 25 minute time slot. You can reserve your time on their website.
